How articles are made
No two articles are ever the same so each project requires varying amounts of time, people, equipment and expertise. With that in mind we run a very flexible, efficient and creative operation that is ready to tackle any type of situation.
Here is a breakdown of the process:
First contact and consideration
We film all styles of dining and almost anything within the topic of food and beverage. In spite of this, we are limited by time. We put a lot of work into our production so we like to invest that time into articles that will benefit our users.
We take a holistic approach when we consider what you do based on range components and we generally know quite quickly if you're right for the site. We welcome anyone to get in contact no matter who you are what you do. We love supporting passionate new business owners just as much as the well established.
Article discussion and research
This is where you tell us as much as possible about who you are and what you do. We like to undertake as much research as possible before undertaking any interviews because the better we understand you the better the resulting story. If you're a celebrity there may be a good amount of existing material for us to study and get to know you. However, the fact that 99% of people aren't you will most likely have to give us some history and some people to talk to.
From there we formulate the best possible way to tell the story and prepare to interview you with that in mind. However, the exciting part is that you can never fully predict what exciting things might come out of an interview on the day so it’s just a guide.
Interview preparation
The interview forms the story and we are capable of conducting an interview with just about anyone... Yes! Anyone. 85% of people we speak to have never been interviewed before and there are plenty of people we've spoken to with very little english so don't be scared. We have plenty of experience in this area and work very hard to get the best out of you. We have uncovered a lot of stars in our travels. Many of which who have never spoken in front of a camera before.
Could you be the next?
Confident people
Generally we like to prepare people for an interview face to face. However, time isn't always on our side so this might have to be done with a phone call. This is recommended for people that don't have a problem yarning in front of a camera. We will give you some key story points to study in advance then probe you on the day.
Not so confident people
Some people can be quite nervous and inexperienced in a TV interview. If this is the case we will take the time to meet in person as many times as necessary to ensure the person being interviewed gets the adequate support prior. A lot of the time it's just a case of getting to know each other. This ensures a comfortable and confident delivery of the story.
If you're interested in finding out more about the interview process you're welcome to contact us.
Location shoot
This can take anywhere between 1 to 4 days. We always keep an extra day booked just in case we need extra footage. Our methods are unobtrusive and crew is kept to an absolute minimum where space is an issue. A lot of the time you'll probably forget we're even there! We've put a lot of time into developing non disruptive techniques so yourself, your business and your customers can operate as close as possible to a typical day.
Another important aspect is your time. We understand that this is just as valuable as your money so that is something go to great lengths to respect. Schedules are written to ensure everyone knows when and where we will be at any particular time.
Food photography
In some case food may need to be cooked for photography. This is generally a case for eateries with small kitchens that won't have space for a camera man during service.
Edit
This process can take anywhere between 2 days and 2 weeks depending on the project. This is the defining stage of production where we begin to discover the fruit of our efforts.
First view
Before anything is publicized we give you a preview of the clip. If there's something sensitive you'd like taken out or something you feel we left out you're welcome to comment. We are generally very confident you'll be happy on the first view.
